Custom Demo & Dismantling was proud to lead the full demolition of Maiden Elementary School, a 53,000-square-foot facility located in Catawba County, NC. The scope of work included the complete removal of the building structure, concrete slab, and building foundations, all completed on an aggressive 6-week schedule. Our team executed the project with careful coordination, a strong focus on safety, and a commitment to sustainable practices—delivering results on time and with zero incidents.

The demolition process began with a comprehensive pre-demolition assessment and site preparation, including utility disconnections, environmental considerations, and the removal of all hazardous Asbestos Containing Materials. Once the site was cleared and secured, we began mechanical demolition of the structure, using heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers and hydraulic breakers to safely bring down the building in controlled stages.

Following the structure’s removal, we moved into slab and foundation demolition. Concrete slabs were broken up using hydraulic breakers, and foundations—including footings and below-grade structures—were excavated and removed in a manner that protected underground utilities and maintained site stability. Dust control and debris management protocols were followed throughout the process to minimize disruption and maintain a clean, safe job site.

A key aspect of this project was our commitment to material recycling and environmental responsibility. All salvageable materials, including concrete, metals, and masonry, were sorted and hauled to a certified recycling facility where they will be processed and repurposed as alternative construction materials, supporting a circular economy and reducing landfill waste.
